As introduced to you some time back, I had the honor and the pleasure to work with Kuoni on my favorite drinks for an “elsewhere” inspired Cocktail Hour. You already saw and maybe tried the Peaches & Roses Bellini, which is one of the best treats whenever the occasion arises to host a fabulous brunch! So simple to stir together, too, and rather fancy. This one here though, the Paloma, is a rather unfussy and dirty number of a drink. It consists of Tequila and Grapefruit Juice or Soda, and not much more. Apparently, the Mexicans put a bottle of Tequila and Fresca (a Grapefruit Soda) on the lunch table for everyone to mix their sips according to their liking. For lunch, you guys? So from the brunch bellini it is on the lunch tequila, haha. I do not complain!

Directions:
Put some sugar and the same amount of salt on a small plate and combine. Brush the rim of a cocktail glass lightly with the half of a lime and dip the rim into the sugar and salt mix to coat. Combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, sugar syrup, tequila and ice in a shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into the two prepared glasses. Add ice cubes and fill up with mineral water. Serve with a slice of grapefruit.
Virgin Version: for a non alcoholig version of the paloma skip the tequila and instead add more mineral water.[/twocol_one][fourcol_one_last][/fourcol_one_last]
