welcome december
it's finally december! my favorite month of the year. though currently i feel like everything is just rushing by, past me... like there is no time to stop.
apart from my job at the agency, that's very exciting but busy, too, at the moment, i'm also singing again with the gospel choir. and of course, the holiday season is the main concert season. the many rehearsals have been fun but also very exhausting. apart from that, my brain is on constant rotation. gifts! i can't stop making lists about gifts that i still need, about what's still missing. and then i'll have to find tiny slots to squeeze some gift shopping in. plus, there are also two (can you believe it?) more weddings to attend this month. i'm over the moon with joy! i love a good winter wedding. it will be so romantic!
but before the time to celebrate is here, work has to be done... lots of work. as much as i wish i would be able to blog every day about the fantastic december month and the joys it brings, i'm afraid i wont find the time... this really disturbs me. and i beg your pardon. but i assure you: the new year will surely bring enough time and chances to recap all the good things that will happen!
as for the moment, i wanted to share this picture with you: my ginormous green wreath, that's (finally) hanging on the wall (okay, it might not have been entirely easy to hang it up there. given the size and weight. and given the fact that my dad's probably not as much of a handy-man as he wishes to be. but of course i will never tell him that... sorry dad! i love you). it fills the room with a marvelous foresty scent.
and last but not least, here's the list of things i'm going to this month (24 of them, to be exact):
1 bake vanillakipferl
2 write a christmas card to every family member
3 be nice to foreigners on the street (and swear less under my breath when they squeeze past me)
4 take a stroll down-town at night to take the lights all in
5 drink at least one glass of mulled wine (though i don't particularly like it, it's inevitable in this season)
6 finish my adler olsen book - and start the two others
7 find something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue
8 get me a pair of green or red tights
9 tell my boyfriend i love him, every day
10 take a bubble bath
11 look at christmas trees...
12 ...and not buy the uglies one out of pity, again (like i did last year...)
13 make sure all my pretty gowns and skirts are ironed for the holidays
14 meet my girlfriends to pre-celebrate christmas
15 listen intently to william fitzsimmons (live)
16 enjoy the collection of candles (including the scented ones) at home
17 come up with at least one new gift idea for my boyfriend (the major gift is already organised)
18 help my mom plan and prepare the christmas family dinner
19 buy a mistletoe and kiss under it (a lot)
20 eat a lot of kakis
21 celebrate my birthday (a little)
22 be excited about the approaching holidays
23 pack my bags and repack my bags for the trip up north
24 be thankful
what are you going to do, this december?
have a happy one!
love
scarlett
