Hey friends! I’m back with a bang and some chocolate, ha! I’ve been busy working – also creating recipes, styling, taking pictures… But just not on this space. At least not as often as i would have loved to. If you’ve read my latest post, you know that there are a few things happening in my life. We got married in November in a beautiful, intimate, family-only civil wedding celebration. I’m officially a misses now *swoon*. Over the moon with joy!

Whenever I see a good DIY project – which happens a lot when you’re a Pinterest addict, like me – I think to myself: “oh, I want to try this!”. I will bookmark it lovingly and archive it under my crafts boards. But then, the likelyhood and truth is I’ll probably never start anything, really. The reason is. well, I’m not as good with my hands as I would like to.
Yes, I’ve made my fair share of flower bouquets (almost a Pro in that field) and greenery wreaths (for the Holidays and other). I’m obsessing over handwriting and lettering, and am an avid learner in the caligraphy field. But I’m not really getting over the “larning stage” there…
Dear readers and friends, today I feel especially honored to be able to share with you a project that I was able to participate in. I got to represent no lesser brand than Piaget. And honestly…? They had me at Piaget, haha. Girls… we’re really sooo simple. Who wouldn’t say yes to having your pictures taken in a candy sweet – and pink! – environment, wearing Piaget Possession jewelry from head to toe…? Exactly. Kind of every woman’s (and little girl’s) dream. There is now a voting open for you to decide who’s going to win the Piaget contest. Me along 19 other beautiful and strong women. I have to say… I don’t want to be the voter… So tough to pick just one favorite!
These past weeks have been a lesson in so many things… Self-control and patience, mainly. But also, how to unwind after a very stressful day. How to not take things personally. How to be gentle. And also (unnecessarily) how to trouble shoot. The lesson I’ve learned is: there is no such thing as a perfect thing. Even if you planned everything meticulously, Karma will find a way to fuck it up. I’m super happy – because today is my day off…! It’s been a while since my last leisurely day, it’s been a while. So I finally get back to blogging a bit. Double yay! Of course, I’m not planning on spending the day doing nothing… No. I’ve got a full schedule. First, I’m going to the market for some fresh blooms.
When I think of my last proper (read: longer than a weekend, backpacking and free like a bird king of) travels, I think of 2003 (you guys!) when I travelled to Thailand. It was so fabulous! Busy Bangkok and beautiful beaches. And the food… OMG! Da best. Thailand got me forever hooked on coconut, curries, rice in all shapes, exotic fruits and pad thai (because what’s not to like, right?). One thing I’ve been craving ever since that one, serendipitous dinner / dessert at Tango in Bangkok is “sticky rice”. Sticky rice aka the best thing since sliced bread.
Loves! In the depth of everyday life that’s occasionally eating me up (…), I have a mini breaking news. I’m going to do a boot camp! Starting Monday. And for 11 (eleven) weeks, every day of the work week. Isn’t this the coolest? And… uhm, crazy? Yes, I’m shitscared. But hey: you only live once.
I love breakfast. And though I’m not a brunch person, I think breakfast is a good time to invite people over and to come together for an informal, healthy, strengthening meal to kick off a happy day. Easter around here is made for brunching, people go all out on the display, featuring Zopf and eggs in different versions and fruit and Müesli. For me, it doesn’t have to be “a little bit of everything”, as I tend to be happy with a smoothie bowl alone or a plateful of scrambled eggs. Or even just an avocado or a green juice. Keeping it simple is key, for me.
