So our friends’ daughter and C’s god-daughter turned one last weekend. Cue: Smash The Cake! I mean, come one, you can’t be a professional Pinner and NOT have a Smash The Cake Session, right? So ofc I volunteered (read: forced everyone to be allowed) to bring a sweet little cake entirely dedicated to the little lady, to turn the whole shabang into a sweet little, picture-worthy session. We’re a liiiittle late to the party regarding nursery “reveals”, given that little is alredy four months (what? eep!) old. Aren’t you supposed to do that before birth? Anyway. Ahem. But then again, a couple of inevitabilities (and, well, baby! ha, my favorite excuse these days) brought us this far: unorganized state (which we all know really is a euphemism for “mess”). Mind you, I’ve been planning little’s nursery ever since the day I found out I was pregnant (pretty much exactly one year ago today, weeep). I had just started twelve week boot camp. Yes, the irony! And well, i wasn’t feeling all too well in the mornings. So getting up at 5 am was like torture. Sorry, I’m rambling.. Okay fast forward nine months of pregnancy…

Mamahood. I always dreamed about it, but I never really knew what it meant. Let alone how much I would love it. It’s the most important challenge and adventure in my life. One thing is for sure: there is no going back to my old life, pre-mom. All my dreams came true, and now all my thinking and being is dedicated to being a mom. Well, maybe not alllll of the thinking (because, cake) – but a pretty big part anyway (in my spare-time, ha). I’m a full time lioness mom now, i guess. Ha!

One of the foods I love the most is Wähe – a Swiss version of the tart, that’s made with either fruit or vegs and some sort of a curd to hold it all together. My favorite version is sweet, of course (incorrigible sweet tooth, me). I like to make them with seasonal produce – apples in the fall and winter, raspberries in the summer, plums in late summer. Wähe is a super versatile dish. And it’s either a meal in its own right or a dessert. Ah, fun fact: Fridays used to be “Wähe” days in some homes and in some bakeries when I was a kid. Fun times, haha.

I know I shouldn’t start every other post with a swear word… but GOSH! Time is flying! Little is already 12 weeks (three bloody months!) old and it’s a thought that drives me insane. Still enjoying every precious second that we have together while I’m still at home, full time, and can dedicate all my energy and love to her. There will be a time when this won’t be possible to the same extent, because, duh, work…? Earning money and adulting in general, shm. But…

To live in Switzerland and so close to the mountains feels like such a blessing. I’ve always liked to venture out into the snow and go skiing and snowboarding. And since I’m not under my parents’ roof anymore I love to go hiking (side note: used to throw a tantrum when I was little whenever “walking” was even mentioned… Sorry, mom & dad). Switzerland is the much referenced “winter wonderland” and a tourist’s dream destination. And since it’s my home I don’t brag about it every day, but I really feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful country.

Time is running so fast… I can’t believe my little munchkin is almost 2 months old. And that this means that I’ve been at home for almost two months. The two best months of my life so far. As a mom (and a housewife, admittedly) – the  best job in the world. Even if it means you only ever get to do and cook things one-handedly… lol.

Hey friends! I’m back with a bang and some chocolate, ha! I’ve been busy working – also creating recipes, styling, taking pictures… But just not on this space. At least not as often as i would have loved to. If you’ve read my latest post, you know that there are a few things happening in my life.
